Ian is the founding Chairman and Managing Director of Pinnacle Investment Management Limited and was the catalyst for the establishment of Palisade

Ian has broad investment, financial and business experience, including 15 years as the CEO, CIO of investment management firms

His career includes being the founding CEO of boutique funds management firm Perennial, the founding CEO of QIC and the CEO/CIO of Westpac Investment Management. Prior to joining the investment management industry Ian’s public sector experience at Queensland Treasury was of a highly commercial nature, including substantial involvement with most major capital market participants (Australian and global) and public sector provision of infrastructure

Ian has a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Financial Management from the University of Queensland, a Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning), is a CFA Charterholder, and a Fellow of both the Australian Society of CPAs and the Australian Institute of Company Directors

Alex is a Director of Pinnacle Investment Management and a number of the boutique managers associated with Pinnacle. His responsibilities include the provision of the business services support required by the Pinnacle Group. He has been intimately involved in the funds management strategy of the Wilson HTM Investment Group and the establishment of Pinnacle and each of its boutiques

Prior to joining the Company he held senior positions with PKF (Chartered Accountants) and Indevco Business Consultants

Ian is a founding Director of Palisade Investment Partners. He has over 40 years experience in commercial and investment banking

Immediately prior to the establishment of Palisade, he had for two years been the principal in a private consulting practice focusing on the infrastructure sector.

Ian established the project finance business for Societe Generale in Australia and managed the business from start up to a position of a market leader. He resigned in 2005 from the position of Managing Director after 14 years of operations during which the business recorded a zero credit loss record. In 2001 a survey of the Australian project finance market by East & Partners ranked Societe Generale as #1 in technical competence and equal #2 in quality of people

Previously, Ian was a senior executive with Bankers Trust Australia. He co-founded the leveraged lease/tax based financing business and developed the business from start up to a market leadership position

Ian is a lawyer, admitted as a Barrister-at-Law in the Supreme Court of NSW and is an Associate of the Bankers Institute of Australasia

David has over 20 years experience in project finance with leading Australian and international banks and a global credit ratings agency

After an initial ten years focused on oil and gas projects, David then broadened his banking experience to infrastructure financing including the earliest Public Private Partnerships entered into in the early 1990’s

His relevant banking experience includes Natwest in Sydney, New York and London in senior roles as Head of Project Finance and Managing Director, Ecofin a London-based boutique corporate adviser, and National Australia Bank where David established the project finance advisory business

Between 2002 and 2008, David was Vice President with Moody’s Investor Services, specialising in project finance and infrastructure across airports, power and toll roads.

David has a Bachelor of Science (Sydney), Master of Science and a Ph D in Geology from University of South Carolina, and has completed a Corporate Finance course at Macquarie University. He is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course
